System administrators play an important role in the daily operation of Salesforce. In this sense, and as announced at Dreamforce 13 by Mark Benioff, Chairman of Salesforce, SalesforceA, a mobile application designed exclusively for them, is now available.
SalesforceA allows system administrators to perform basic user maintenance tasks wherever they are via their mobile devices. The application presents a “very clean” interface with direct access to the necessary information.
The main features are:
Visualisation of immobilized or blocked users on the home screen.
Freeze a User: This is a function introduced in Winter ’14 which prevents users from logging-in but without deactivating them. From an administrator’s point of view, it streamlines management tasks without having to deactivate users.
Unblocking users who have forgot their passwords and found themselves locked out.
Simple user search, visualisation and editing.
Permissions: Although, at the moment, permissions cannot be created (this must still be done through the web interface), SalesforceA allows you to assign or unassign a user to or from a set of predefined permissions.

Although the application lacks certain functionality, such as creating users or sets of permissions, the features it currently provides are very useful for any system administrator. We are also convinced that with the speed at which Salesforce introduces new versions, we shall soon see how SalesforceA is enhanced.
